Thank you to everyone who came to WADstock, and a huge thank you to all the performers too. It was a fantastic night and there were some stunning performances from Sheffield’s finest bands, dancers and artists.  Sponsored by the O2 Academy Sheffield, the night featured top local acts who have helped put Sheffield on the map as a leading UK cultural city. All proceeds from the night will go to our three chosen charities.

Lords of Flatbush - www.myspace.com/lordsofflatbush

Electro super-band and talk of the industry, Lords of Flatbush are fronted by the legendary vocals of Steve Edwards, whose contributions have peppered hits from Cassius, Bob Sinclair and Axwell. A rowdy and cool combination of electro, rock, ska and funk which makes for brilliant live shows and a full throttle assault of sound.

The Spires www.myspace.com/thespiresmusic

Electro-rock and hard style indie pop. Explode in an adrenaline fuelled performance that led Embrace’s Danny McNamara to earmark The Spires as the hottest new UK band to watch out for.

The Violet Maywww.myspace.com/thevioletmay

The most talked about band in Northern England. Frontman Chris McClure’s vocals oscillate over bold, bolshy, guitar and crashing drums. Expect high voltage tunes from Sheffield’s most hotly-dubbed band.

Wet Nunswww.myspace.com/wetnunsdeathblues

All the way from Sheffield, Alabama in the Deep South. Join Doctor Skrot on guitar/vocals, Sheriff Leki on percussion/vocals and Preacher O-Dog for some filthy filthy filthy down-tuned blues sung in fake American accents.

Flares From Far Awaywww.myspace.com/flaresfromfaraway
Acoustic indie and beautiful harmonies from the winners of the World Aids Day battle of the bands competition.

Animat feat. Seni Seneviratne – www.myspace.com/animat

Downtempo electronica and digital soul from Sheffield duo Animat (Big Chill) set to the moving words of acclaimed poet Seni Seneviratne, who has written a poem especially for World Aids Day.

Out Aloudwww.outaloud.org.uk

Sheffield’s first gay choir perform rock and pop hits.

Demolition Dance Crew – www.demolitiondance.co.nr

Diverse and talented hip hop street dance from Sheffield’s DDC.

Chinese Ribbon Dance

Beautifully choreographed festive folk dance.

Maynard Flipflapwww.maynardflipflap.com

International street entertainer, eccentric visual comedy and other silly stuff.

Anthony J. Brown

Resident Compere at The Caper Club Sheffield, winner of JongleursMetro “Stand Deliver” Comedy Award 2003, runner up in BBC New Comedy Awards 2000, appeared on BBC’s ‘The StandUp Show’ Channel 4’s “Phoenix Nights” and regularly featured on “The Arthur Smith Lectures” on Radio 2 and “Spanking New” on Radio 7. Clad in a sartorially edifying bespoke manner like a dapper and dandy funeral director Anthony cuts a unique onstage presence with black humour, 4 5 6 and 7liners drenched in evocative imagery and laced with comedic red herrings.

And DJ Keef Tango, who’s been cutting rugs since 2004.
